A. C. Myles

A. C. Myles

A.C. Myles, guitarist, singer and songwriter, is reminiscent of greats in the taste of Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rory Gallagher and Eric Clapton. He is one of those performers, that once seen on stage, you’ll never forget. As an entertainer, A.C. Myles is an interesting observation. Vividly entertaining in person, often times appearing as if the world could be falling down around him as he play, himself far to entranced in his musical prayer to notice it was happening. All the while his veracious smile rarely leaving, only to disappear in the occasional facial cast of throe. His dedication to progress, perform and nurture the American music forms introduced to him in his youth is uncanny, only exceeded by his undeniable human talent, along with an overall sincerity that’s very conjoining. Myles’ stage antics and persona are night and day in comparison to the man you would meet offstage.

Adam Crawford Myles grew up in the migrant worker rurals of the Central California town in which he was raised. He is the only child of an only child. He hasn’t any siblings and only two remaining relatives, one his mother, coming from a meager family; he is often introverted. His solitary ways set in early, taunted by schoolmates, he had very few friends in youth. He remains sequestered although polite and witty if engaged.

A.C. was first influenced by his guitar playing Father, learning the basics from watching him and playing along to C.D.‘s, the two often having living room jam sessions with friends. By the time he reached his early teens in high school, he had formed a trio and begun playing guitar and singing classic rock n’ roll songs and blues covers for biker gangs and bars crowds. “I started playing guitar and singing in the bars when I was young. Real young.”

He played, like many young musicians, in the school music programs. Although without any formal music training, Myles was accepted into the high school jazz band. He eventually taught himself the basics of reading music and won several awards for ‘Outstanding Musicianship’, most notably an IAJE award at the Reno Jazz Festival, because of his formidable guitar solos.

With a keen ear and an introspective lyricism, A.C. has become a skilled songwriter, continually pleasing his audiences and critics with his remarkable original material. His personal appearances have a ‘take no prisoners’ approach which; along with a healthy dose of humor, usually gets even the toughest audience on his side. With a performance schedule that might make lesser musicians opt to take up with a good book and a glass of wine, A.C. Myles has a strong work ethic and undiminished ambition. At every chance proclaiming his inalienable right to boogie and rock. “I just want to play for the people who love this type of music. They understand what we’re about. If we do right by the people then I think we’ll be around for awhile”
